Master Cleanse - Crazy & Popular

The "Master Cleanse" aka "the Lemonade Diet" diet has been around for a long time, but has recently had a resurgence in popularity due to some comments made by performer Beyonce' about how she dropped weight prior to her starring role in the movie musical "Dreamgirls." Word is that she gained her weight back quite quickly afterwards. Other celebs who allegedly have done the master cleanse have been Lindsey Lohan and Nicole Richie. But this diet is so inexpensive, you don't have to be on a celebrity budget to attempt this diet

What makes Master Cleanse so crazy is not only the large amount of weight you can drop in a short time, but the lack of food you will have to tolerate. This is a fasting and detox diet, and should not be attempted without permission of you primary care physician because fasting can be very dangerous.

You've also got to be crazy to do this diet if you are not in a situation where you'll have 24/7 access to the bathroom, because you'll be spending a lot of time there. Try it out on the weekend and stock up on some good reading!

There are many variations/recipes for the Master Cleanse/Lemonade Diet, here are a few of the variations:

Master Cleanse #1:

2 Tablespoons Lemon or Lime Juice (approx 1/2 a lemon)

2 Tablespoons of PURE Organic Grade B Maple Syrup (it must be real grade B maple syrup your basic pancake syrup like Aunt Jemima or Mrs. Buttersworth is NOT maple syrup, but a bunch of chemicals)

1-2 pinches of cayenne pepper (to taste)

12 ounces of purified water at room temperature

Drink as much or as little of this mixture for 2-3 days, then switch over to a moderate veggie, whole grain (brown rice) diet with several cups of the Master Cleanse afterwards, repeat a week later until you reach desired weight.

Master Cleanse #2

To make a day's worth of the cleanser in a pitcher:

60 oz water per day (or 10 oz per glass)

12 tablespoons (or 2 tbsp. per glass) Organic Pure Grade B Maple Syrup

12 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice (or 2 tbsp. per glass)

Half a teaspoon of cayenne pepper (or 1/10 tsp. per glass) or to taste

Repeat as in the above recipe

Many versions of this recipe recommend the addition of herbal laxatives, but a regular fiber laxative like Citrucel or Metamucil is fine, just read the label and follow as directed.

For more in depth information & tips, I highly recommend picking up a copy of the original Master Cleanser book by Stanley Burroughs. Also, you might want to take a look at these other sites.

You should only make it one or two glasses at a time, so the water will stay medium hot. Also a good laxative is to drink hot herbal tea right when you wake up, as the stomache's pyloric valve (exit to intestines) is still open when you wake up. When you're off the master cleanse you can do this as well, but use plain water to prevent addiction/dependance on laxative teas.

There's a good forum at curezone.com for master cleanser as well

Some blog seo tips, use fewer categories or tags, like make one called "cleanse/fasting" or a useful variant on that theme.
